bob redell joins us live outside parkside elementary school. bob, will parents notice these changes as soon as they drop off their kids this morning? >> reporter: absolutely. some of those changes went into effect last week. the idea they would all bow implemented by today. one of the most obvious is you can see they have got a new gate that's been installed here, so this dpat agate and all the oths will be locked. you might notice that the fence is pretty short, it's still hopable, but that's an issue the school is still looking at, whether they want to raise the fence. some of the other new security measures going into effect today here, locked gates. there's only one entrance for people coming to campus. that's the main entrance. they're using that as a choke point so they can keep track of who's coming an going. no one is allowed on campus to pick up or drop their children. they must be dropped off at the front entrance. and all visitors must sign in and wear a badge. these new measures are in response to what happened ten days ago. on frid
